January 2016 was a month that was completely dominated by winter sports for us \u2013 more precisely, we held our breath with excitement about the snowboard cross world cup \u2013 together with 100 athletes from 23 nations. Our high-speed Cablecam was, of course, part of the game, delivering exciting recordings.<\/p>\n<\/div>
<\/div><\/div><\/div>High-speed Cablecam recordings<\/h2><\/div>The Feldberg had two highlights at once: Germany hosted the Snowboard Cross Cup for the first time in 10 years \u2013 and for the first time in the Black Forest. Additionally, it was the first time our newly-developed high-speed Cablecam saw some action! The new camera system reached speeds of up to 70 kph alongside the track, followed the movements at an optimal height, and delivered great bird’s-eye view footage. The high-speed rope camera covered a total track distance of 350 meters. To fasten the special ropes, we used a 24-meter-high crane; further up the mountain, we installed our Truss Tower.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Most of them were in the finishing area to cheer for the snowboarders. The competition could also be followed on big screens here \u2013 accentuated by diverse social events such as live music. The 570-meter-long sprint track saw six boarders per heat battling for victory. Our broadcast was used for the live broadcastings of German TV stations ARD, ZDF, and ARD.
