Silvestershow in Hamburg
After 15 years at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, the major ZDF New Year’s Eve show took place in Hamburg for the very first time. In the port city, an extraordinary floating stage was built on the River Elbe. Our company supported the live production on site with state-of-the-art camera systems, capturing the event from unique perspectives – both from the air and directly at stage level.
The approximately four-and-a-half-hour live broadcast “Willkommen 2026” aired on ZDF and was hosted by Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner. Numerous well-known artists performed on the floating stage. The combination of live music, advanced event technology and an exceptional location made the show one of the television highlights of the New Year’s celebrations. Among the systems in use were our rail camera and the 2D camera system RCS 2SKY. Fully integrated into the TV production, these systems delivered dynamic, stable and emotional images from multiple angles. This ensured seamless visual coverage of all performances – for both the on-site audience and viewers watching at home.
The evening concluded with a large-scale fireworks display over the River Elbe. According to the organizer, around 9,000 people celebrated the New Year live in Hamburg’s HafenCity. Our professional camera technology for large-scale events and TV productions played a key role in capturing these special moments in high-quality live coverage.
